The Pacific Patriot Network, under the leadership of the Oath Keepers remains operational in the Lincoln, Montana area. We are committed to securing the mine site of George Kornec and Phil Nappo, owners of Intermountain Mining LLC which was requested due to threats to their mining venture. There is a dispute between the actions taken by the United States Forest Service and the miners. Our goal has been and will continue to be to secure that area from threats until a legal action takes place within the court system.
Thursday evening the community was invited to an informal meeting to discuss any concerns that they had about Operation Big Sky. There was a small number of people in attendance and many local media reporters. The concerns that were raised included impact upon the DEQ reclamation project, which employs approximately 50 community members, as well as questions about the actual security team itself. An agreement has been reached with the DEQ Project Manager regarding travel routes and times. There will be no interference with this project. The community was assured that our security team is made up of highly trained professionals and would only be operating within the mine area itself.
On Friday a meeting took place between the Sheriff and Under Sheriff of Lewis and Clark County and the on site leadership of Operation Big Sky. During this meeting questions were raised from both parties and information shared. Operation leadership was pleased with the outcome of this meeting.
At this date and time operation leadership has had no contact with the US Forest Service. We are aware that the Forest Service knows of this operation due to media references.
