Sound like a fair fight? If you saw this billing for a prize fight would you think you were in for a good fight or for a farce? If it was a football game are you expecting a blow out or an overtime thriller?
Can you imagine what the publicists spin for this contest :
"The most important government in the world throws all its power, its money, its personnel, its armament, its expert resources against George--- an 83 year old veteran of the US Air Force and the Army, having served in the Korean War and The Cuban Missile Crisis as well as his partner and best friend, Phil--- a 65 year old veteran of the United States Army1 US Air Force who served during the Viet Nam era. George and Phil with their limited resources which can't be replenished with a new tax revenue are fighting the impossible fight."
The United States of America, defended by George and Phil during their military service, has now filed a lawsuit aimed at throwing George and Phil off their mining claims in Montana, claims they have worked together for decades. Some of those claims are located on land homesteaded by George's family where he was raised. Many of his family members are buried on this land. George and Phil have put in place a mining system that rivals and surpasses model big corporate operations.
This game will be played on the courtroom floor of the United States district court in Montana.
Quarterback for the United States of America will be the United States Department of Justice, through the United States Attorney, leading an unlimited juggernaut of research and trial preparation experts.
Calling plays for George and Phil will be an aging trial lawyer, 79 year old Fred Kelly Grant, and a young, energetic lawyer named Josh Campbell from an esteemed Great Falls law firm.
I can just hear the George and Phil fans, "oh no, it's gonna be a slaughter. I'm watching this one from a comfortable chair where I can fall asleep when the game gets out of hand."
My friend, ordinarily you might be right—but Josh and I intend to make the powerful government forces earn a victory if they can. We intend to work our tails off, not for a settlement, but for victory, for a win so big that the Forest Service will leave George and Phil alone to run their mining venture.
To do that we need your help. We don't have the unlimited resources enjoyed by the government. We need your help to fund a struggle that is of monumental importance to every independent mining venture in the 11 western states.
I hope you notice we don't ask you to donate to a "legal DEFENSE fund", but to donate to a "legal VICTORY fund". With your help we will fight this fight TO WIN.

Pacific Patriots Network (PPN) is closely monitoring the Federal Prosecutors
The "Call For Action" for Saturday February 6th is cancelled.
